Located in Gretna, Nebraska, Vala’s is a family owned and operated fall festival open to the public 45 to 55 days a year and is a treasured fall tradition for many families in the surrounding communities. Vala’s property spans 400+ acres, including over 50 attractions, such as pick-your-own pumpkins, apples, and flowers, and over 25+ food locations. Responsibilities:

As a part of the food team, this position is responsible for taking orders and payment from guests utilizing our point of sale (POS) system. Additionally, this position is responsible for plating and handoff of food to guests as needed. This is a guest facing position. This position reports to the location Team Leader. This is a seasonal, part to full time position. Location may vary based on business needs.

• Accurately record orders, including special dietary requests, from guests using POS system
• Accept payment and process transactions
• Plate and/or hand off completed orders to guests, ensuring accuracy
• Interact with guests in a friendly manner at all times
• Maintain a clean and food safe environment at all times
• Ensure self-serve drink stations are clean and stocked
• Tend to seating and dining areas (if applicable), including wiping down tables, sweeping and mopping
• Collect food trays to clean between use
• Identify and communicate when trash needs to be taken out
• Quickly resolve guest issues

Requirements:

• Strong communication and guest service skills
• Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
• Works well in a fast paced, team environment
• Ability to work in variable weather conditions
• Ability to stand, walk, lift, carry, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, twist, and reach for extended periods
• Ability to move 25 lbs, 25-50 lbs frequently, and 50-70 lbs occasionally
• Interest in food and guest service- experience not required
