Job Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
-Performs variety of tasks including digital still photography
-Collects data on photos taken, writes captions and news articles on photos taken
-Determines subjects of interest to intended audience and uses creativity and initiative in conducting interviews
-Uploads photos and maintains AKO website to support MOB/DEMOB units
-Proofreads and edits materials for clarity, grammatical accuracy, and compliance with standard journalistic style
-Selects the most newsworthy and quality photographs to submit for publication
-Takes photos of all MOB/DEMOB units prior to their departure from Ft. Hood
-Documents through photos, historical changes at NFH and progress of projects
-Documents any other project/event as directed by Mobilization Division Chief
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Performs duties as a backup CQ/Facility Inspector
-Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
-Associates degree or 3-5 years photography experience preferred
-Must have knowledge of photography including operation of digital camera with interchangeable lens, downloading and cropping photos
-Previous specialized experience in performing photograph, writing, and editing
-Must provide samples of previous work in the areas of photography and writing
-Proficiency using Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Publisher, and Adobe
-Secret Clearance
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
-Excellent personal communication skills
-Must have valid state drivers license and be able to maintain post driving privileges
-Prior work with military/government preferred
-Must be able obtain/maintain Common Access Card
-Ability to prioritize work, complete multiple tasks, and work under deadlines
-Must be able to devise steps necessary to complete tasks
-Ability to read, write, and understand English

Must have the ability to work indoors or outdoors in bad weather. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, stoop down and lift and carry an excess of 50 pounds on a regular basis. Must possess: visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; and the manual dexterity to operate hand tools.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS: Reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
