The Company

Cobalt Truck Equipment started in 1995 with 12 employees & a single location. Our corporate headquarters are in Nampa, Idaho, and the company has only continued to grow from there. Now, Cobalt Truck Equipment has over 100 employees and locations in Spokane, Las Vegas, Fort Worth and San Antonio. In addition to building custom, fully equipped trucks for its clients, Cobalt Truck Equipment also keeps an extensive inventory of built-up, work-ready truck packages available for immediate delivery. Construction, utility, municipal and heavy equipment clients have all come to trust Cobalt Truck Equipment for quality mechanics trucks, lube trucks, utility bodies, platforms, vans, and more. Summary

This position is responsible for helping clients troubleshoot, repair, operate, and maintain their equipment. They are responsible for performing quality repairs and providing detailed descriptions of the work performed. A few of the main duties are inspecting and troubleshooting service equipment, instructing customers on how to use the equipment properly, building relationships with customers, and following company procedures.

Essential Functions

  • Perform on-site customer service, including diagnostic & repair of electrical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot gas and diesel engines to locate malfunctions & identify next steps for resolution.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic equipment to locate malfunctions & identify next steps for resolution.
  • Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics
  • Travel long distances to customer sites independently
  • Work with customers to identify and resolve concerns or problems with equipment
  • Manage multiple work orders and ensure completion of work and customer satisfaction
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Communicate with the office to work up estimates in the field with detailed description of work to be performed.
  • Close service tickets with details of work performed and obtain customer approval for work completed.

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience as a service technician
  • Demonstrate technical, mechanical and troubleshooting abilities to define and perform maintenance and repairs on service trucks
  • Excellent communication skills and customer presence a must.
  • Strong Organizational Skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to learn to read, write and comprehend technical service manuals.
  • Computer skills a must, office applications, e-mail, computer interfaces
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License

Work Environment

This position works outside in the elements most of the time. This position also requires many hours of sitting while driving.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or type, and reach with hands and arms. Also communicate with customers and team utilizing his or her ability to talk and/or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time. The employee must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 55 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a half hour lunch, but hours could change based on need.

Travel

80% travel expected for this position.
