Responsibilities

The nature of this role is to help prevent damages. The Damage Prevention Specialist works as a liaison to the homeowner and/or contractor and the gas company.

  • Practice safe dig practices in accordance to 811 dig law
  • Visit active job sites in a company-provided vehicle to communicate to contractors or homeowners about safe dig practices in accordance to 811 dig law
  • Facilitate gas marking corrections and updates as needed
  • Provide quality checks on utility markings
  • Accurately complete detailed documentation of daily activities
  • Assist in identifying marked utilities, structures and maps and in the field
  • Perform operator-level maintenance on assigned company tools and equipment as required
  • Other tasks as assigned


Qualifications
  • Experience with locating gas utilities is a plus, but not required
  • Operator Qualification's or ability to obtain Operator Qualification's required
  • Valid driver's license
  • Work outdoors under the full range of weather conditions typically experienced throughout all seasons of the year
  • Proficient communication verbal and written communication
