Thompson Pipe Group is currently looking for a Plant Clerk.
This position will be directly assisting in the overall administration and coordination of production. This position will be directly assisting in maintaining and enhancing the department’s critical deadlines in production and the management deadlines in administrative demands.
Essential Functions
- Maintain the job schedule with up to date information
- Collect daily production reports, enter and postproduction
- Create and maintain accurate production schedules for each department
- Communicate with the supervisors any discrepancies in production reporting
- Enter receipts of raw materials into IFS
- Calculate employee daily, weekly and monthly efficiencies as well as departmental efficiencies
- Enter daily employee work hours for payroll and track overtime hours
- Track bulk cement and sand usage and order as needed for operation
- Track Air Permit Usage for end of year reporting of emissions
- Request quotes, order and track as needed miscellaneous supplies and raw materials
- Ensure project drawings are current and revisions distributed to the proper areas
- Update and maintain usages of raw materials, plate steel, flanges to provide accurate inventories
- Assist in communicating with central scheduling for deliveries and lead time estimates
- Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice
- Assist with Basic Safe entries (SOP, Risk Assessments, Near miss, first-aid)
Requirements
- Must be punctual and dependable
- Must maintain accurate records
- Must be detailed oriented and well organized
- Must communicate with other departments effectively
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook (MS Office)
- Must speak, read and write English (bi-lingual a plus)
- Work overtime if necessary (this may include weekend work)
- Working knowledge of production processes (preferred)
- Working knowledge in IFS (preferred)
- Working knowledge in ADP (preferred)
Required Education and Experience
- High School graduate/GED required
Supervisory Responsibility
- This position requires critical thinking and working closely with production Crew Leaders and engineering to ensure that deadlines will be met.
Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move products and supplies, up to 40 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. OT will be required as needed. This position regularly requires weekend work.
