Under the guidance of the Director of Infection Prevention, the Manager of Infection Prevention provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all Infection Preventionists across the health system. Ensures consistent, high-quality infection prevention practices that safeguard patient safety and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Accountability: Directly supervises Infection Preventionists, setting clear expectations and holding team members accountable for timely, accurate completion of all assigned duties. System-Wide Collaboration: Partners with physicians, nursing teams, and executive leadership to align infection prevention strategies with organizational goals and clinical priorities. Operational Excellence: Develops and implements standardized tools, workflows, and evidence-based processes to drive consistency and quality across all facilities. Regulatory Compliance: Oversees mandatory reporting, audits, and follow-up activities to ensure adherence to state, federal, and accreditation requirements. Performance Optimization: Establishes and adjusts priorities in a dynamic environment, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet emerging challenges. Continuous Improvement: Leads initiatives to monitor outcomes, identify trends, and implement corrective actions that advance infection prevention performance. Impact: Plays a critical role in reducing healthcare-associated infections, enhancing patient outcomes, and supporting the organization’s commitment to safety and quality. Bachelor's degree in nursing, public health, business administration or similar field required. Master’s degree in nursing, public health, or related field preferred. Certification in Infection Prevention & Control (CIC). |
