Job Description

About the Role:

Lakeside School, an independent 5-12 coeducational day school located in North Seattle is currently recruiting for Middle School Soccer Coaches. Practices are scheduled to begin the week of August 24, 2026, and the season concludes in late October.

Responsibilities

These coaches, reporting to the head varsity girls soccer coach and Assistant Director of Athletics - Middle School, will join an athletics program that includes 26 varsity teams, most of which have both sub-varsity and middle-school counterparts. The girls soccer program supports Upper School teams, as well as several teams at the Middle School. These coaches will be responsible for coaching duties with their team, as well as other program-wide duties as assigned by the head varsity coach or the Assistant Director of Athletics - Middle School. Specific responsibilities include:

  1. Compliance with all Lakeside School and Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) policies and procedures.
  2. Commitment to providing support, communication, and opportunities to a diverse student body who come to school with different and evolving lived experiences and levels of preparation as student-athletes.
  3. Supervision and instruction of student-athletes during team activities.
  4. Attendance at required program and interscholastic athletics program meetings.
  5. Support of multi-sport participation for student-athletes.
  6. Promotion of balanced achievement in all areas of school life for student- athletes.

Requirements and Qualifications

  1. At least 19 years of age.
  2. Availability for all practices (twice per week for 75 minutes at either 3:45 or 5 pm) and competitions (weekends) during their coaching season.
  3. Experience playing or coaching soccer at the club, middle school, high school or college level.
  4. Demonstrated cultural awareness, including knowledge of themselves and the cultural lenses they bring to interactions. Candidates will understand different perspectives, interact respectfully with cultures other than their own, and cultivate meaningful relationships with people who have different cultural frameworks.
  5. Possess or obtain prior to the start of the season current First Aid/CPR certification.
  6. Satisfactorily complete two criminal background checks.

Compensation and Benefits
Stipend range: $1,200-$1,700
We offer a stipend schedule that compares favorably with peer schools and clubs both locally and nationally. Coaching stipends are paid in monthly installments during the primary competition seasons. Other benefits include Lakeside Athletics apparel and access to funds for professional development.
