Sports Court Monitor

We are seeking dedicated and energetic Sports Court Monitors to ensure the safety, order, and enjoyment of guests while utilizing our sports courts. The Sports Court Monitor will oversee activities in the court area, assist with equipment setup/teardown, enforce court rules, conduct light housekeeping duties, and provide excellent customer service to all guests. This role requires individuals with strong communication skills, a positive attitude, assertive demeanor, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor Court Activities: Offer general oversight to sports court activities, to ensure players follow the facility’s rules and safety guidelines.

• Enforce Rules and Regulations: Ensure fair play by enforcing facility rules and regulations regarding sports activities, player conduct, and court usage.

• Assist with Equipment Setup: Set up and maintain sports equipment, such as nets, balls, and markers, ensuring everything is in good working condition, and raising and lowering backboards, divider curtains, and volleyball nets.

• Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by assisting players with inquiries, managing reservations, and offering guidance on facility use.

• Safety Oversight: Be alert to any safety concerns or potential hazards on the courts and take appropriate action to prevent accidents or injuries.

• Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure courts and surrounding areas are clean and organized, including managing trash, sweeping and mopping as needed, and reporting any maintenance needs.

• Conflict Resolution: Mediate any disputes between players and ensure conflicts are resolved in a timely and professional manner.

• Reporting: Maintain records of court usage, incident reports, and any issues that require management attention.

• Ensure Facility Security: Monitor access to restricted areas and ensure the security of the facility during shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience: Previous experience in customer service, sports coaching, or facility monitoring is a plus, but not required.

• Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• Physical Fitness: Ability to stand for extended periods and handle light physical tasks, including setting up and maintaining equipment.

• Knowledge: Basic knowledge of common sports played in a facility setting, such as basketball, volleyball, and pickleball is preferred.

• Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification is desirable but not mandatory.

• Work Environment: Ability to work in a gym setting / indoor facility setting with controlled temperatures.
