This role offers the opportunity to serve as a strategic finance partner to an Australian-based business while working from Bangalore. You will play a key role in financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and performance analysis, providing insights that support informed business decisions. The position combines strong financial expertise with commercial understanding and close collaboration with senior business and operational leaders. You will contribute to budgeting, long-term planning, business case evaluation, and executive reporting across the organization. The role also offers opportunities to improve financial processes through automation, data analytics, and enhanced reporting tools. - Lead the preparation and consolidation of annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-term financial plans in collaboration with Australian business leaders.
- Translate operational and commercial drivers into accurate financial forecasts covering revenue, costs, capital requirements, and other key business areas.
- Maintain and continuously enhance financial planning and forecasting models to support effective business planning and decision-making.
- Deliver detailed monthly variance analysis against budgets and forecasts, identifying key performance drivers, risks, opportunities, and emerging trends.
- Provide actionable financial insights and recommendations to help improve business and operational performance.
- Support the evaluation of financial business cases, including capital investment proposals, return assessments, and other strategic initiatives.
- Prepare monthly management reporting packs for executive leadership, ensuring information is accurate, relevant, and delivered on time.
- Prepare quarterly Board reporting materials for the VP Finance and provide clear analysis of business performance.
- Develop dashboards and reporting tools that improve visibility into key financial and operational performance indicators.
- Monitor business performance and proactively communicate material risks, opportunities, and areas requiring management attention.
- Act as a remote finance business partner to the Australian leadership team, providing financial guidance and analytical support.
- Collaborate with operational teams to understand and analyze key business drivers, including revenue, costs, fleet utilization, and project performance.
- Support strategic planning initiatives and business transformation projects through financial analysis and commercial insights.
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline financial planning, reporting, and analysis processes.
- Enhance the use of financial systems, business intelligence platforms, and data analytics to improve finance effectiveness.
- Ensure financial data used for planning, reporting, and decision-making is consistent, accurate, reliable, and appropriately maintained.
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with strong experience in financial planning and analysis, management reporting, or a closely related finance function.
- Demonstrated experience in FP&A, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, variance analysis, and performance management.
- Strong financial analysis and modelling skills, with the ability to translate complex financial and operational information into meaningful business insights.
- Proven experience partnering with senior business and operational stakeholders and providing finance-driven recommendations that support decision-making.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of how operational drivers influence financial performance.
- Experience preparing executive-level management reports and Board reporting materials.
- Ability to develop and maintain financial models covering revenue, costs, capital expenditure, and longer-term business planning.
- Experience evaluating business cases, investment proposals, and financial returns is valuable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and a focus on accuracy.
- Experience with financial systems, business intelligence tools, reporting platforms, and data analytics is preferred.
- Demonstrated interest in process improvement, automation, and streamlining finance operations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly to non-finance audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote, international environment.
- Comfortable working across time zones and collaborating closely with teams based in Australia.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables within established deadlines.
