The Opportunity

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Clinical Nurse to join our team. Reporting directly to the Nurse Manager (or Executive DON, Ambulatory), you will deliver professional, age-specific nursing care in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. In this role, you aren’t just following a checklist—you are a patient advocate, a clinical educator, and a vital collaborator working alongside physicians and multidisciplinary teams to elevate patient outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver Exceptional Care: Perform all aspects of patient care, from comprehensive initial assessments to precise medication administration.
  • Drive Care Planning: Identify nursing priorities, develop tailored care plans, and deliver (or delegate) care that strictly aligns with Valleywise Health’s high-quality standards.
  • Be a Patient Champion: Act as a dedicated advocate and educator for our patients, helping them navigate their healthcare journey with clarity and confidence.
  • Lead & Support: Indirectly supervise ancillary team members and actively participate in team-building initiatives to foster a positive workspace.
  • Continuous Improvement: Manage and complete all required clinical documentation efficiently while actively contributing to quality improvement projects.
  • Promote Equity & Value: Bring professional expertise and inclusive behaviors to a culturally rich healthcare environment, ensuring cost-effective and consumer-centric care.

Hourly Pay Rate: $34.15 - $50.37
The night shift pay differential will be paid at 18% of the employee's base rate of pay. The weekend shift pay differential will be paid at 8% of the employee's base rate of pay.
Qualifications
Education:
  • Prefer a bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing.
Experience:
  • Must successfully complete the Valleywise Health New Graduate RN training program or have prior acute nursing experience demonstrating an understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Previous acute care hospital experience in the area he or she is applying for is preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
  • Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license, a temporary AZ RN license, or a valid compact RN licensure for the current state of practice.
  • Must be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.
  • Requires a BLS card obtained through an American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire.
  • In addition, certification or continuing education may be required based on the area of practice:
    • Burn Med Surg Adult: Must have ACLS upon hire or transfer. Must obtain PALS within six (6) months. Must obtain ABLS within one (1) year.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse people is a must.
  • Bilingual is preferred.
  • Must have excellent communication, time management, and customer service skills.
  • Requires basic computer word processing skills (e.g., formatting, editing, printing, composing email, internet searches, etc.) to navigate through an electronic medical record using a computer successfully.
  • Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
