This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Engineer, ServiceNow (GRC) based in India.
This is a senior technical role focused on designing, developing, and implementing enterprise-grade ServiceNow solutions, with a strong emphasis on GRC and Legal capabilities. You will help translate complex business and technical requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable architectures. The role combines hands-on platform engineering with technical leadership, architectural decision-making, and stakeholder consultation. You will work extensively with ServiceNow platform components, custom applications, integrations, automation, and enterprise development practices. The position offers an opportunity to influence technical standards, guide development teams, and shape solutions that meet demanding functional and non-functional requirements. Success requires strong ServiceNow expertise, sound software engineering principles, and the ability to communicate effectively across technical and business teams.
- Design, develop, configure, and review high-quality ServiceNow solutions aligned with business use cases, technical requirements, and enterprise architecture standards.
- Translate functional and non-functional requirements into detailed technical designs, solution architectures, development guidelines, and implementation approaches.
- Provide technical leadership across ServiceNow GRC and Legal implementations, identifying solution options and selecting approaches that best meet business, scalability, security, and maintainability requirements.
- Develop and review architecture and design documentation covering application frameworks, integrations, technology choices, design patterns, and high-level implementation approaches.
- Evaluate solutions for extensibility, scalability, security, user experience, performance, and other non-functional requirements, ensuring established engineering and architectural best practices are followed.
- Establish technical guidelines and benchmarks for non-functional requirements throughout project implementation and provide direction to development teams.
- Work with developers to map architectural and technical decisions to requirements and provide guidance on implementation.
- Design and implement custom scoped applications and complex ServiceNow capabilities using platform-native tools, scripting, workflows, and integrations.
- Support ServiceNow platform architecture, upgrades, MID Server environments, troubleshooting, and integration scenarios.
- Apply software engineering practices including version control, CI/CD, unit testing, integration patterns, and structured development methodologies.
- Consult with stakeholders and technical teams on architectural decisions, technology integration scenarios, and long-term platform strategy.
- 5.5+ years of professional experience, with strong hands-on experience in ServiceNow architecture, application development, and implementation.
- Extensive experience with ServiceNow GRC and Legal modules and enterprise-scale ServiceNow implementations.
- Strong knowledge of ServiceNow platform components including Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions, ACLs, Flow Designer, and related capabilities.
- Solid experience with MID Server setup, platform upgrades, troubleshooting, and enterprise integrations.
- Advanced scripting experience using JavaScript and Glide, along with Web Services such as REST and SOAP, SRAPI, and Import Set APIs.
- Experience designing and implementing custom scoped applications and solutions for complex enterprise requirements.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, including version control, CI/CD, unit testing, design patterns, scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Knowledge of SOA technologies, REST/SOAP integrations, and broader enterprise integration techniques.
- Experience in enterprise software development within ServiceNow or comparable application domains.
- Strong architectural thinking with the ability to evaluate multiple solutions, make informed technical decisions, and influence engineering best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, stakeholder management, and consulting skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and business audiences.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
