Job Description
Job Purpose:
Implements nursing care in accordance with program procedures established by the Director of Business Operations
Hours:
-8 hours per week during primary business hours (8:30am-4:30pm)
Duties/Responsibilities:
-Administering drugs, medications, treatments, vaccinations, and tests as allowed by law.
-Implementing provider orders and authenticating in writing, within a reasonable time, and included in the patient record
-Providing weekly 1:1 meetings with up to 40 clients if requested with appropriate documentation of same.
-Communicating with physicians, Nurse Practitioners, nurses, and pharmacists
-Completing other tasks within the scope of registered nurses and the program services and procedures.
-Oversees all aspects patient admission process, including:
-Pre-screening of new patients for appropriateness for admission, including TB screening.
-Obtaining physical assessment data and health history
-Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, including transcribing and administering routine and prescribed medications in accordance with procedures established by the Director of Business Operations.
-Assisting clients to obtain necessary and appropriate medical appointments, including transportation to and from appointments
-Records patient observations and activities in patient records accurately and timely in accordance with nursing standards and organizational policy and procedure.
-Trains all Recovery Advocate staff on self-administration of medication
-Actively and compassionately interacts with patients to encourage engagement in treatment.
-Maintains a safe and sanitary environment, applying principles of medical asepsis and applying infection control techniques and universal precautions.
-Provides patient education on health care, as assigned or appropriate.
-Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings.
-Follows all policies and procedures regarding patient information protection, including alcohol-drug patient confidentiality (42 CFR) and HIPAA (45 CFR).
-Attends training on chemical dependency and mental illness as required by employer.
-Maintains and demonstrates a current working knowledge of applicable clinical procedures and nursing care based on company policy and State and Federal guidelines.
-Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
-Valid Registered Nurse license
-Must have experience with clients that are dually diagnosed.
-Experience working with diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds is required.
-Must have valid driver’s license
-Must be certified in CPR and First Aid
