Position Summary
Atlantic Constructors, Inc. (ACI) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated QA/QC Specialist – Field to support quality operations across multiple ACI projects and divisions.

The successful candidate must be capable of independently reviewing construction requirements, evaluating field installations, identifying quality concerns, documenting findings, and working collaboratively with project teams to drive issues through resolution.
This position requires more than documentation skills. Candidates must have a solid understanding of construction practices and be able to read drawings, specifications, approved submittals, RFIs, and other technical documents and compare those requirements directly to field installations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform QA/QC field inspections and quality audits across multiple ACI projects and divisions.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, piping isometrics, equipment schedules, details, and approved coordination drawings.
- Review approved submittals, RFIs, manufacturer requirements, installation instructions, project specifications, and project-specific QA/QC plans.
- Verify field installations against approved drawings, specifications, applicable codes and standards, manufacturer requirements, and project quality expectations.
- Inspect mechanical and construction systems applicable to the candidate's technical background, including piping, plumbing, HVAC, sheet metal, welding, fire protection, electrical, equipment installation, supports, hangers, and related systems.
- Support inspections of prefabricated and fabricated assemblies when required.
- Perform quality inspections before work is concealed, insulated, energized, pressurized, covered, or released for subsequent construction activities.
- Witness and document applicable pressure testing, flushing, equipment testing, startup activities, commissioning, and other project-specific testing.
- Verify that required testing procedures, documentation, equipment, instrumentation, and acceptance criteria are established before testing begins.
- Create and maintain QA/QC inspections, observations, photographs, reports, and corrective-action documentation using Procore and other approved ACI systems.
- Clearly document non-conforming or deficient work and reference applicable drawings, specifications, approved submittals, codes, standards, or manufacturer requirements when appropriate.
- Track QA/QC observations and deficiencies through corrective action, reinspection, verification, and final closure.
- Coordinate inspections and testing activities with Project Managers, Superintendents, Project Engineers, Foremen, field personnel, vendors, General Contractors, Owners, commissioning teams, and third-party inspectors.
- Assist project teams in evaluating recurring quality concerns and identifying potential root causes and preventive actions.
- Support project startup by helping establish inspection requirements, QA/QC documentation, testing expectations, and project quality workflows.
- Assist with commissioning, punch-list activities, turnover packages, closeout documentation, and final quality reviews.
- Support and mentor project-assigned QA/QC personnel when required.
- Assist with field training and implementation of ACI QA/QC standards and best practices.
- Document lessons learned and communicate recurring quality trends to QA/QC leadership.
- Maintain accurate, organized, and traceable QA/QC documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Represent ACI professionally while working with employees, clients, General Contractors, Owners, inspectors, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of relevant construction experience, preferably involving QA/QC, field inspection, supervision, commissioning, or skilled-trade construction.
- Strong field knowledge within one or more construction disciplines such as mechanical piping, plumbing, HVAC, sheet metal, welding, fire protection, electrical, or related systems.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and technical documentation.
