FOOD SERVICE MANAGER in Ellsworth, Maine at KidsPeace Childrens Hospital

The Food Service Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the Food Service Department including preparation, production and service of meals and snacks, safety and sanitary handling and storing of food, maintaining a safe and sanitary kitchen and its components, purchasing and department budgeting, nutritional education and development of activities to improve the performance of the department. Supervises the Food Service Department Associates including temporary workers, when necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma.
• Two years experience in Food Service.
  

JOB DUTIES:

• Supervision of daily preparation, production and service of meals and snacks in a friendly, supportive and cooperative manner.
• Safe and sanitary handling and storing of food.
• Maintain the physical kitchen and its components in a safe and sanitary condition.
• Purchasing, collection of data, completion and filing of reports and department budgeting.
• Develop activities to improve overall performance of the department.
• Assist children with nutrition education.
• Coordinate with Consultant Dietitian in nutritional goals, menu planning and special diets.
• Successful completion of KidsPeace Employee Training Program.
• Operationalize the Model of Care.
