Part Time - Residential Direct Support Professional in Norristown, Pennsylvania at Developmental Enterprises

Make a difference every weekend! Join our team as a Residential Direct Support Professional (DSP) and help individuals with developmental disabilities live more independently, safely, and meaningfully in their community.

Saturday & Sunday — weekly or bi-weekly

Shifts Available:

• 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

As a Residential DSP, you'll provide hands-on support and companionship to individuals in a community-based residential home. Every day is an opportunity to help someone build independence, participate in their community, and reach their personal goals.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, meals, mobility, and household routines.
• Support individuals with their personalized care and support plans.
• Encourage participation in community activities, recreation, education, and employment.
• Promote independence, dignity, choice, and self-confidence.
• Monitor health and safety and report concerns or changes appropriately.
• Provide medication support as trained and authorized.
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming home environment.
• Work collaboratively with families, healthcare providers, and other members of the support team.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, or similar populations preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Dependable and able to work independently.
• Ability to successfully complete required background checks and health screenings.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Preferred:

• Previous DSP or residential care experience.
• DSP certification or related credential.
• Experience with person-centered planning or behavior support.
• Medication administration or other healthcare training.
• Experience with electronic documentation systems.
