This role focuses on ensuring accuracy, compliance, and integrity in affordable housing certification processes across a portfolio of residential properties. The Compliance Community Support Specialist is responsible for reviewing resident files, validating documentation, and ensuring all move-ins, annual certifications, and interim certifications meet strict regulatory and program requirements. This position plays a key role in preparing audit-ready files and supporting property teams in maintaining full compliance with federal and state housing programs. It requires a high level of detail orientation, strong analytical ability, and comfort working with structured systems and data. The environment is remote, process-driven, and quality-focused, with frequent interaction with compliance systems and verification tools. This role directly supports housing accessibility and regulatory compliance within the affordable housing sector.

Accountabilities:
  • Review, verify, and process resident files for move-ins, annual certifications, and interim certifications across assigned property portfolios.
  • Enter and validate data within certification systems while ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and state housing program requirements.
  • Collect, secure, and confirm all required documentation and third-party verifications to complete compliant resident files.
  • Prepare complete and audit-ready certification files for property-level execution and review.
  • Respond to and support resolution of State and Investor audit inquiries throughout the year.
  • Ensure proper use of property management and compliance systems, including Yardi Voyager and verification platforms.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure consistency in data entry and documentation standards.
  • Support property teams by identifying discrepancies and ensuring corrective actions are taken in a timely manner.
Requirements:
  • 3–5 years of experience in property management, with strong exposure to compliance or affordable housing programs.
  • Hands-on experience with Yardi Voyager and familiarity with RightSource Verification systems.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state affordable housing regulations and certification processes.
  • Comfortable working with numerical data, including confidence using 10-key calculators for accurate data entry.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple files and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify inconsistencies and ensure compliance accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and responding to audit requests.
