Are you mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and passionate about troubleshooting and repairing technology? AllTerra Central is seeking a Service Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and servicing industry-leading geospatial and positioning equipment while providing exceptional customer service throughout the repair process. What You'll DoAs a Service Technician, you will:
- Diagnose equipment issues using technical manuals and troubleshooting procedures.
- Prioritize and process repair work on a first-in, first-out basis.
- Log incoming equipment and accessories into the service management system.
- Prepare repair estimates and obtain customer approval before beginning work.
- Communicate repair status, timelines, and costs directly with customers.
- Create and manage service orders from intake through completion.
- Coordinate shipping of repaired equipment and third-party repair items.
- Process warranty claims and warranty-related repairs.
- Maintain relationships with manufacturers, including Trimble Service Centers, and other service vendors.
- Support internal teams with technical assistance, equipment inspections, and urgent repair requests.
- Perform monthly inventory reconciliation and maintain accurate records.
- Stay current on required training, certifications, and product knowledge.
- Answer incoming calls and provide technical support as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Electronics training or experience in a related technical field.
- Two years of vocational or technical school education.
- Experience with soldering and electronic component repair.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet applications, and SharePoint.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
