Senior IBM Datacap Administrator / Developer in Croatia at Jobgether

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior IBM Datacap Administrator / Developer based in Croatia.

This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced IBM Datacap professional to contribute to the development and evolution of an enterprise document-processing platform. The role spans Datacap development, platform administration, integrations, troubleshooting, testing, deployment, and production support. You will help transform business requirements into secure, scalable, and reliable technical solutions. Working within an Agile product engineering environment, you will collaborate across development, architecture, testing, and operations. The position offers the opportunity to build new capabilities while supporting critical enterprise workflows. Experience with modern integrations, DevSecOps practices, and secure enterprise environments will be highly valuable. This is an ideal role for someone who combines deep Datacap expertise with strong software development and problem-solving capabilities.

• Design, develop, configure, enhance, and maintain IBM Datacap applications, including rulesets, tasks, actions, document hierarchies, workflows, validation rules, and verification processes.

• Configure and optimize OCR, document recognition, classification, data extraction, field validation, image processing, and batch-processing capabilities.

• Develop reusable Datacap components and custom actions or extensions, including business rules for document routing, validation, exception handling, and processing.

• Install, configure, administer, monitor, and maintain Datacap environments across Development, Test, QA, UAT, and Production.

• Administer and troubleshoot Datacap Server, Rulerunner, Datacap Studio, and Datacap Navigator, including processing queues, logs, performance, failed batches, OCR issues, workflow failures, connectivity problems, and production incidents.

• Participate throughout the product development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, technical design, sprint planning, development, testing, deployment, release planning, and post-deployment stabilization.

• Translate business requirements and user stories into technical solutions, estimate development effort, conduct peer reviews, troubleshoot defects, and implement sustainable fixes.

• Develop and support integrations using REST APIs, SOAP web services, databases, file-based interfaces, enterprise content repositories, workflow platforms, and business applications.

• Integrate document-processing capabilities with enterprise platforms such as IBM FileNet P8 and IBM Content Navigator where applicable.

• Manage metadata mapping, database lookups, document and metadata exports, API data exchange, retries, error handling, audit logging, and exception management.

• Develop and maintain custom components using C#, .NET, Java, JavaScript, SQL, XML, REST, and SOAP, with particular emphasis on C#/.NET for custom Datacap actions and extensions.

• Support secure enterprise and federal environments, including practices related to NIST, FISMA, IAM/RBAC, audit logging, vulnerability remediation, application security, PII protection, and configuration management.

• Contribute to source control, CI/CD, automated deployments, release management, environment configuration, monitoring, incident management, and DevSecOps practices.

• 5+ years of hands-on IBM Datacap experience, including strong experience with IBM Datacap 9.x/9.1.x.

• Strong Datacap Studio development experience, along with hands-on Rulerunner administration and development.

• Proven experience developing Datacap rulesets, workflows, tasks, actions, and other custom processing components.

• Strong understanding of document capture and intelligent document processing, including OCR, classification, extraction, validation, verification, and image processing.

• Enterprise-level Datacap administration experience across multiple environments, with strong production troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.

• Experience integrating Datacap with databases and enterprise systems, including strong SQL capabilities and REST and/or SOAP integration experience.

• Working knowledge of Windows Server and IIS.

• Experience participating in Agile application or product development environments, from requirements and design through development, testing, deployment, and production support.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.

• Experience with IBM FileNet P8 and IBM Content Navigator is highly preferred.

• C#/.NET experience and a background in developing custom Datacap actions or extensions are highly valued.

• Experience with Java, JavaScript, SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2 is advantageous.

• Familiarity with federal government IT environments, FISMA, NIST, DevSecOps, CI/CD, enterprise application integration, and secure handling of sensitive or PII data is preferred.

• Experience building and enhancing new enterprise products, rather than exclusively maintaining legacy applications, is a strong advantage.
