Job Description
The Process Operator position is a key and essential position to chemical plant operations. They perform routine process monitoring, sampling, and utilization of safe operating procedures (SOPs). Process Operators ensure production and quality targets are met reliably and safely and are the front line in troubleshooting and debottlenecking process issues.

Bleach is the modern, preferred water treatment chemical displacing chlorine throughout the world. K2 Pure Solutions produces bleach onsite from nothing but salt, water, and electricity eliminating the danger and risk of a chlorine railcar release into communities trans-America. Any chlorine generated onsite is quickly consumed onsite within the Corteva Agriscience industrial park. Other chlor-alkali products produced by K2 Pure Solutions includes hydrochloric acid and caustic soda.

Position Summary
K2 Pure Solutions is hiring full-time process operators to fill open positions within the operations department. Process operators are essential to chemical plant operation. With routine process monitoring, sampling, and utilization of safe operating procedures (SOPs), process operators ensure production and quality targets are met reliably and safely. They are the front line in troubleshooting and debottlenecking process issues.
Operations at K2 is 24/7, 365 days per year. Process operators are on a 12-hr shift, “modified DuPont” rotating schedule. Pay increases are based on qualification with up to 5 different areas to qualify in and no restrictive timelines. This role reports to the Operations Manager.

Requirements:• Monitor and control process variables on distributed controls system (DCS) and
in the field.
• Collect and analyze routine samples.
• Utilize/review/write standard operating procedures (SOPs) for normal process operations,
startup, shutdown, and emergency response.
• Perform minor equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Clear, isolate, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) equipment for maintenance.
• Issue safe work permits (SWP) to maintenance group and contractors.
• Return-to-service (RTS) equipment following maintenance.
• Load, unload, and spot railcars for product shipments.
• Setup external truck drivers to load products.
• Respond to emergency incidents as part of the on-shift HAZMAT team.
• Attend periodic classroom training and maintain individual computer-based training.
• Communicate and collaborate with other roles within the company (maintenance, engineering, EH&S)
and logistics partners.
• Comply with all the policies, standards, and rules published by environmental, health, and
safety (EH&S), company, and regulating authorities (OSHA, EPA, DOT/FRA, etc.).
• Improve and maintain orderly plant housekeeping.
• Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Must be able to effectively communicate (oral and written) in the English language.
• Must possess effective and active listening abilities.
• Must be organized and able to successfully multi-task.
• Must possess basic computer skills with working ability of Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to perform basic mathematical functions, along with division using standard units
of measurement (volume, pressure, weight, etc.).
• Must be able to pass and maintain hazmat physical qualifications.
• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to safety toe
boots, hard hat, chemical goggles, hearing protection, gloves, chemical protective suits, face
shield, fall protection harness, and full-face respirator.
• Must be dependable.
• Must be able to behave professionally at all times while at work.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
• High School diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• PTEC degree or equivalent in chemical plant operations, preferred Experience:
• Prior work experience in industrial environment preferred.
• Chlor-alkali operations experience, preferred. License:
• Valid and encumbered CA driver’s license
