About the Role:
The Counter Sales position is a customer-facing role focused on delivering exceptional service and support to clients visiting the sales counter. The primary goal is to accurately process sales transactions, provide product information, and assist customers in selecting the right products to meet their needs. This role requires effective communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers and ensure a positive shopping experience. Additionally, the Counter Sales associate will manage inventory levels, handle cash and payment processing, and maintain an organized and welcoming sales environment. Success in this role contributes directly to customer satisfaction, repeat business, and overall store performance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in retail sales or customer service preferred but not required.
- Basic proficiency with computers and point-of-sale systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management and stock control procedures.
- Knowledge of the specific product line or industry related to the sales counter.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to handle difficult customer situations.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers promptly and courteously, assessing their needs and providing knowledgeable product recommendations.
- Process sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale (POS) systems, including handling cash, credit, and other payment methods.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product offerings, promotions, and inventory to assist customers effectively.
- Manage inventory by restocking shelves, conducting stock counts, and reporting discrepancies to management.
- Ensure the sales counter and surrounding area are clean, organized, and visually appealing at all times.
- Address customer inquiries, resolve complaints professionally, and escalate issues when necessary.
- Collaborate with team members and management to meet sales targets and improve customer service standards.
