RSi is looking to fill a Production Control Specialist II position to support our NASA customer on the Marshall Engineering Technicians and Trades Support contract (METTS). The Production Control Specialist II is responsible for compiling and recording production data for reports on volume of production, consumption of material, quality control, and other aspects of production.

This position may require occasional overtime and may include second or third shift support for 24/7 onsite or on-call support based on customer needs and contract requirements.


Summary of duties include but are not limited to:

  • Compiling and recording production data from customer orders, work tickets, product specifications, and individual worker production sheets following prescribed recording procedures
  • Calculates such factors as types and quantities of items produced, materials used, amount of scrap, frequency of defects, and worker and department production rates for inventory records
  • Preparing requisitions for procurement of materials
  • Writing production reports based on data compiled, tabulated and computed, following prescribed formats
  • Maintaining files of documents used and prepared
  • Working with designers, engineers, and manufacturing personnel to determine capability of producing deliverable end items
  • This individual works under the supervision of the Manager and will operate with a great deal of autonomy

Required Minimum Education/Experience/Certifications:

  • Moderate understanding of machine tool operations and the types of machines used in the fabrication of parts
  • Capabilities in the Microsoft Office Suite of applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Must be able to interpret written instructions, be able to interface with potential vendors, and resolve issues

Preferred Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/IT Skills/Certifications:

  • Three (3) years experience in a related field is desired
  • Strong communication skillset

Work Environment:

  • Machine Shop, Laboratory, test environments, test stands, possible confined spaces.
  • Loud/Noisy space

Physical Environment/Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):

  • Must be able to bend, stoop or lift occasionally with or without reasonable accommodation
  • All positions supporting the METTS III contract are contingent upon successful completion of NASA medical screenings at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter. The need for these screenings is determined based on the outcomes of the Safety, Health, and Environmental Job Assessment Questionnaire.


Other: This position is subject to a pre-employment background check. Must meet eligibility for a Public Trust background investigation for government issues credentials and IT access/applicants must be able to pass a security background check per Redstone Arsenal/MSFC requirements.

  • You will be required to provide two (2) forms of Federal I9 documents

  • You will be required to provide a REAL ID compliant identification to gain access to RSA and MSFC

  • Your name must match on both forms of ID, be original (no copies/digital), and be unexpired
