As a Senior SAP Basis Architect, you will lead the architecture, delivery, and governance of SAP cloud transformation programs. You will provide technical leadership across SAP landscapes, drive modernization initiatives, and ensure successful implementation of secure, resilient, and scalable solutions.
- Design end-to-end SAP technical architectures across S/4HANA, ECC, and BW/4HANA environments on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Lead SAP transformation programs, including brownfield, greenfield, system conversion, migrations, upgrades, and cutover activities.
- Define and implement high availability and disaster recovery strategies with validated RTO/RPO objectives.
- Architect solutions aligned with SAP Cloud ERP Private Edition and RISE with SAP reference models.
- Lead multiple concurrent SAP transformation initiatives while ensuring delivery quality and operational excellence.
- Mentor Basis engineers and cloud teams, promoting best practices and technical growth.
- Govern complex delivery models involving SAP, cloud providers, and managed service partners.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
- Drive automation initiatives using infrastructure-as-code, Ansible, and CI/CD approaches for SAP infrastructure.
- Ensure SAP environments meet security, compliance, networking, and identity management requirements.
- Provide technical guidance for SAP database technologies, migrations, and performance optimization.
- Support continuous improvement of SAP operations through innovation, standardization, and modernization.
The ideal candidate is a highly experienced SAP Basis professional with strong cloud architecture expertise and a proven ability to lead enterprise transformation programs. You should combine deep technical knowledge with strong communication skills and a collaborative leadership approach.
- 10–15+ years of experience in SAP Basis and SAP HANA environments.
- Proven expertise designing SAP cloud architectures across AWS, Azure, or similar cloud platforms.
- Strong experience with RISE with SAP and SAP Cloud ERP Private Edition environments.
- Demonstrated success leading end-to-end S/4HANA transformation programs, migrations, upgrades, and cutovers.
- Deep technical knowledge of SAP databases including HANA, Oracle, SQL, or DB2.
- Hands-on experience with SAP tools and processes such as SUM/DMO, SPAM/SAINT, CTS+, and ChaRM.
- Strong understanding of networking, identity management, SSO, security, and compliance requirements.
- Experience implementing automation practices using IaC tools, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to act as a player-coach, combining technical leadership with mentoring responsibilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to executive stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- SAP and cloud certifications are preferred.
- Experience with SAP Cloud ALM, Focused Run, Solution Manager, SAP Signavio, LeanIX, or SAP BTP is a plus.
- Knowledge of FinOps and SAP cloud cost governance is advantageous.
- Experience working in regulated industries such as healthcare or pharmaceuticals is a plus.
