Job Summary

Our company is looking for an experience Transport drivers. Under the direct supervision of the Dispatcher Supervisor, the Petroleum Transport Driver will be responsible for delivering fuel from various fuel terminals and delivering that product to our convenience stores and those belonging to our wholesale dealers safely. All work will be done in compliance with Dot, Hazmat and OSHA safety rules and regulations. If you have any experience as a Transport driver, we encourage you to apply for this position.

Required Skills and or Licenses

• Commercial Driver's License required
• At least 2-year Tractor Trailer driving experience required. Also, any skills related to petroleum handling a plus
• Proficiency with safe work practices and tank truck driving
• Drivers stand and/or walk 4 to 6 hours per shift and sit and/or drive 4 to 6 hours per shift
• Driving includes climbing into and out of the truck cab 10-12 times per day, shifting a manual transmission, depressing a clutch and brake frequently, often in city and stop and-go traffic
• Drivers are required by their jobs to lift hoses and fittings weighing 30-50 lbs 30 times per day
• Drivers must be able to push/pull hoses and loading arms weighing 30-50 lbs 10-12 times per day
• Drivers must be able to respond to emergency situations. This may include climbing a ladder to the top of the tank to inspect dome lids, closing shut-off valves, pulling 50 lb. fire hoses, and lifting and operating 50 lb. fire extinguishers
• Drivers must have good and/or correctable vision in both eyes, good visual perception and good hearing in both ears
• Drivers must display good hygiene, have good coordination and a good sense of balance
• Drivers must be able to read and speak English clearly
• All drivers are required to pass the DOT physical examination before they are allowed to drive
• All driver must have a valid Commercial Drivers License with X endorsement and Tanker endorsement
• All drivers must be eligible to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)

Essential Functions / Responsibilities

• Conducts pre-operation inspection
• Reports vehicle condition to dispatcher
• Loads and unloads truck in a safe and efficient manner
• Observes safe driving practices while on the road
• Reports all accident immediately and near misses to supervisor within 24 hours of their occurrence
• Follows Safe Work Procedures while carrying out all job tasks
• Maintains the cleanliness of the cab

Schedule

• 6 days on, 2 days off. Day and night shift available. Must be able to work night and holidays
