Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Solution Engineer (Azure & AI) based in Brazil.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on modernizing complex legacy systems through Azure cloud, APIs, AI-powered workflows, and strategic integrations.
You will take ownership of the technical delivery across multiple workstreams, building scalable foundations and progressively replacing outdated processes.
The role combines cloud engineering, software development, infrastructure automation, data, AI/LLM solutions, and application modernization.
You will work directly with client stakeholders and subject-matter experts to translate complex business requirements into practical, production-ready technology.
A strong emphasis is placed on pragmatic delivery, early working software, rigorous validation, and avoiding unnecessary complexity.
You will operate with significant autonomy while collaborating with international teams and US-based clients in a remote-first environment.
This opportunity is ideal for a versatile engineer who enjoys solving ambiguous technical challenges and using AI to accelerate high-quality software delivery.
- Own hands-on technical delivery of a modernization initiative spanning Azure infrastructure, APIs, AI-powered workflows, integrations, and legacy-system replacement.
- Provision and manage Azure cloud environments from the ground up using Infrastructure as Code practices with Bicep or Terraform.
- Design, develop, and maintain REST APIs using API-first architecture principles and well-documented OpenAPI contracts.
- Build and maintain Azure-based services and integrations using technologies such as Azure Functions, Microsoft Entra ID, Key Vault, Azure DevOps, and GitHub Actions.
- Develop AI and LLM-powered pipelines for document parsing, classification, structured output generation, confidence scoring, and human-in-the-loop validation.
- Reverse-engineer undocumented legacy applications, databases, code, workflows, and business rules to support safe modernization and progressive replacement.
- Design and work with SQL Server databases, including schema development, T-SQL, data analysis, and safe interaction with legacy production environments.
- Develop lightweight web applications and internal tools using modern JavaScript frameworks or equivalent technologies.
- Establish robust testing and delivery practices, including validation harnesses, end-to-end testing, acceptance testing, runbooks, and technical documentation.
- Integrate relevant technologies such as OCR and intelligent document processing, template-driven document generation, e-signature platforms, workflow and rules engines, and Microsoft Graph APIs where appropriate.
- Lead SME validation sessions, gather business requirements, communicate technical decisions, and ensure solutions meet real-world operational needs.
- Manage multiple concurrent workstreams independently, proactively prioritizing work and communicating progress, risks, dependencies, and blockers.
- Incorporate AI-assisted development tools into everyday engineering workflows while maintaining appropriate human review, testing, and validation of generated output.
- Deliver incrementally, prioritizing functional software and measurable progress while avoiding unnecessary architectural or technical complexity.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure platform engineering, including provisioning and configuring cloud environments from scratch.
- Practical Infrastructure as Code experience using Bicep or Terraform.
- Hands-on expertise with Azure Functions, Microsoft Entra ID, Key Vault, and CI/CD using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Strong experience designing and developing REST APIs, including OpenAPI documentation and API-first architecture.
- Advanced SQL Server and T-SQL capabilities, including database schema design and experience working safely with legacy production databases.
- Strong proficiency in either C#/.NET or Python, combined with the ability to understand and work effectively with code written in the other language.
- Demonstrated experience building AI/LLM-powered solutions for document processing, classification, structured data generation, confidence scoring, and human validation workflows.
- Strong ability to reverse-engineer undocumented applications, codebases, databases, business rules, and legacy processes.
- Experience developing lightweight web applications, internal tools, or similar solutions using modern JavaScript frameworks or equivalent technologies.
- Experience with comprehensive software testing and delivery practices, including end-to-end testing, acceptance testing, validation frameworks, runbooks, and technical documentation.
- Experience with OCR, intelligent document processing, template-based document generation, e-signature integrations, workflow or rules engines, or Microsoft Graph APIs is a plus.
- Experience in financial services, municipal finance, or other highly regulated or data-sensitive environments is advantageous.
- Strong AI fluency, including practical use of AI-assisted development tools while maintaining human oversight and engineering quality standards.
- Ability to operate autonomously as a primary technical builder across several concurrent initiatives.
- Excellent client-facing communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts and decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong ownership, prioritization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Pragmatic engineering mindset focused on incremental delivery, early validation, maintainability, and avoiding overengineering.
- Comfortable working with international teams and US-based clients in a remote environment.
- Work arrangement: 100% remote.
- Compensation: Above-average USD salaries.
- Profit sharing: Participation in a profit-sharing program.
- Paid time off: 20 PTO days during the first year, increasing to unlimited PTO after the first year.
- Equipment: Equipment provided to support your home-office setup.
- Work-life balance: Strong emphasis on sustainable workloads and a healthy work-life balance.
- International exposure: Collaborate with US-based clients and distributed international teams.
- Culture: Honest, transparent, people-centered working environment.
- Professional growth: Opportunity to work across cloud engineering, AI, application modernization, APIs, and emerging technologies.
- Autonomy: Significant ownership over technical decisions and delivery across multiple workstreams.
