Job Description

AI Product Manager - Agency Exp Required (NYC-based)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an AI Product Manager - Agency Exp Required (NYC-based) based in Canada.

This is a high-impact product leadership role focused on delivering AI-native digital solutions for enterprise clients.
You will own engagements end-to-end, from discovery and scoping through delivery and measurable business outcomes.
The role spans greenfield product development, legacy platform modernization, and AI-native enablement.
You’ll translate ambiguous business challenges into clear product strategies, priorities, and shippable work.
Working closely with clients and technical teams, you’ll help determine where agentic approaches create genuine value.
You’ll also establish appropriate guardrails, evaluation criteria, and success metrics for AI-enabled solutions.
This is an ideal environment for a hands-on product leader who thrives in consulting, ambiguity, and rapid innovation.

Accountabilities:
  • Own client engagements end-to-end, serving as the primary product voice from discovery and scoping through delivery, adoption, and measurable outcomes.
  • Scope and lead greenfield product initiatives, transforming early-stage ideas into sequenced, prioritized, and shippable roadmaps using AI-native approaches.
  • Lead legacy platform modernization engagements, balancing technical debt, business continuity, delivery speed, and long-term platform strategy.
  • Develop AI-native enablement programs, helping client product and engineering teams build the capabilities required to develop and ship AI-powered solutions independently.
  • Translate ambiguous business needs into actionable product plans, including PRDs, success criteria, priorities, delivery sequences, and clear requirements for engineering teams.
  • Partner closely with AI and agentic engineering teams, assessing when an agentic approach is appropriate versus deterministic workflows and helping define practical technical direction.
  • Establish guardrails and evaluation criteria for AI agents before deployment into production environments or access to customer data.
  • Manage multiple concurrent client engagements, balancing competing priorities, budgets, timelines, scope, and expected business outcomes.
  • Lead client-facing meetings, including steering committees, sprint reviews, strategic discussions, and conversations involving changes to scope, feasibility, or timelines.
  • Measure and communicate business outcomes, defining ROI and success metrics while ensuring teams remain accountable for meaningful results rather than output alone.
  • Contribute to internal product and delivery practices, developing reusable approaches and playbooks for AI-native builds, platform modernization, and client enablement.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of product management experience, with demonstrated ownership of product scope, roadmaps, priorities, and delivery outcomes.
  • Agency, consulting, or professional services experience, including managing multiple clients or accounts and navigating expectations, scope, budgets, and competing priorities.
  • Experience across at least two of the following engagement types: zero-to-one product development, legacy platform rebuild or migration, and client-facing enablement or training.
  • Hands-on experience with AI agents or agentic workflows, including having scoped, built, or shipped AI-powered products beyond basic chatbot or prompting use cases.
  • Strong understanding of the tradeoffs between agentic and deterministic approaches, with the ability to contribute meaningfully to product and technical decisions.
  • Comfortable collaborating directly with AI/agentic engineers, including discussions around architecture, evaluation frameworks, observability, and guardrails.
  • Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence VP-level stakeholders, manage pushback, and make difficult scope decisions.
  • Excellent scoping, prioritization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn vague requirements into clear plans and defend product tradeoffs.
  • Strong teaching and enablement capabilities, with the ability to explain AI and agentic concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments, taking initiative without waiting for fully defined specifications.
  • Nice-to-have experience with LLM evaluation frameworks, agent observability tools, technical engineering/data/QA backgrounds, regulated industries, technical training, workshops, or public speaking and writing on product or AI topics.
Benefits:
  • Opportunity to work on AI-native digital products and transformative enterprise engagements.
  • Exposure to diverse client challenges spanning AI agents, greenfield products, and legacy platform modernization.
  • High degree of ownership, empowerment, and influence over product strategy and delivery.
  • Collaborative environment that values innovation, transparency, meritocracy, and continuous learning.
  • Opportunity to work closely with experienced product, engineering, and technology professionals.
  • Ability to help shape internal methodologies and best practices for AI-first product delivery.
  • Inclusive workplace committed to equal employment opportunity and diversity.
  • Workplace accommodations available to support candidates and employees with accessibility needs.
  • NYC-based client engagement with an in-person work requirement, as specified for the role.
