The Westin Michigan Avenue Chicago is seeking a dependable and service-oriented Dining Room Attendant to join our Food & Beverage team. This position plays an important role in creating a welcoming, clean, and well-maintained dining environment while supporting servers and other Food & Beverage associates in delivering an exceptional guest experience.
Position SummaryThe Dining Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the restaurant and dining areas. This role assists with clearing and resetting tables, replenishing supplies, maintaining service stations, and supporting the overall flow of restaurant operations.
The ideal candidate is attentive, efficient, team-oriented, and committed to providing warm and professional hospitality to every guest.
Essential Responsibilities- Clear, clean, sanitize, and reset tables promptly and according to hotel standards.
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the dining room, service stations, and other assigned Food & Beverage areas.
- Assist servers and other Food & Beverage team members during meal periods.
- Replenish silverware, glassware, dishes, linens, condiments, and other service supplies as needed.
- Remove used dishes, glassware, and service items from tables and transport them to designated areas.
- Assist with preparing the restaurant and dining areas before service and restoring areas following service.
- Monitor dining areas and respond promptly when tables or service areas require attention.
- Maintain appropriate sanitation, food safety, and cleanliness standards.
- Communicate guest requests or concerns promptly to the appropriate team member or manager.
- Provide courteous and professional assistance to guests when approached.
- Follow all hotel safety, security, sanitation, and operational procedures.
- Work collaboratively with servers, bartenders, culinary associates, stewards, hosts, and leadership to ensure efficient service.
- Perform additional Food & Beverage duties as assigned based on business needs.
- Previous restaurant, hotel, banquet, or hospitality experience preferred, but not required.
- Strong guest-service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to follow instructions and maintain established service and cleanliness standards.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
This position requires frequent standing and walking throughout the shift. The Dining Room Attendant must be able to bend, reach, lift, carry, push, and pull items associated with restaurant operations and safely transport trays, dishes, glassware, supplies, and other service items.
