This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Advisor Business Operations Process and Compliance Owner based in India.
This is a senior leadership opportunity focused on strengthening global business operations, process governance, and compliance across a complex, highly regulated environment. You will shape operational risk frameworks, governance standards, and scalable processes supporting both B2B and B2C operations. The role has broad cross-functional visibility, partnering with Operations, Compliance, Legal, Audit, Technology, Product, and Analytics teams. You will lead transformation initiatives that improve efficiency, strengthen controls, and enhance customer outcomes. Working across multiple geographies and time zones, you will establish best practices and drive measurable operational improvements. The position offers the opportunity to influence strategy while building sustainable, risk-aware operating models in a global organization.
- Lead global operational support and governance initiatives across B2B and B2C business processes, establishing consistent standards, controls, and best practices.
- Develop and maintain process governance frameworks, operational risk practices, and compliance-focused operating models.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks while strengthening controls and ensuring sustainable risk management practices.
- Translate regulatory requirements into practical processes, controls, and operating procedures that support ongoing regulatory readiness.
- Partner closely with Operations, Compliance, Legal, Audit, Technology, Product, and Data & Analytics teams to address risks and improve business performance.
- Lead large-scale process transformation, continuous improvement, automation, and optimization initiatives that enhance efficiency and customer outcomes.
- Establish KPI and KRI frameworks, operational performance standards, and governance mechanisms to monitor effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
- Drive strategic prioritization of operational enhancements and communicate progress, risks, and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Promote scalable, consumer-centric operating practices across multiple regions, cultures, and time zones.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience, with 15+ years of experience in financial services, banking, fintech, payments, consumer lending, credit, or another highly regulated industry.
- Extensive experience leading operational risk, regulatory compliance, process governance, operational excellence, or comparable enterprise programs.
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale process transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of operational risk frameworks, internal controls, governance models, and risk management methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret regulatory requirements and convert them into effective operational processes and controls.
- Experience working in complex, matrixed organizations and partnering effectively with Compliance, Legal, Audit, Technology, and Operations functions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and decision-making capabilities.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and executive communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Experience collaborating across international geographies, cultures, and time zones.
- Experience supporting consumer financial services operations, regulatory examinations, audits, compliance testing, or regulatory change management is highly valued.
- Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent process improvement expertise is preferred.
- Experience leading global operations support or governance functions, as well as designing KPI/KRI and operational performance frameworks, is an advantage.
- Knowledge of consumer protection regulations and operational risk management practices is beneficial.
