WHO YOU ARE:
We are seeking a highly motivated Certified Scrum Master who will apply Lean/Agile principles and frameworks (Scrum, Kanban Method, and SAFe) to guide and serve teams that deliver technology solutions. The candidate’s responsibilities will include facilitating team organization and project ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily scrums/stand-ups, sprint/iteration reviews/demos and retrospectives), coaching team members on Agile values/principles, such as collaboration, prioritization, team accountability and transparency, reporting and remove any impediments/distractions that interfere with the team’s ability to deliver against their commitments. This person will create and adopt working agreements and definitions of done, to include the use of Agile tools, standards and best practices. They will ensure the team tracks and communicates progress and reports metrics to the appropriate audiences. Their leadership will enable an environment of collaboration and creativity and empower the team to self-organize around achieving their commitments. They will be responsible for promoting quality practices to ensure components, services and applications delivered by the team meet performance expectations, allow for graceful degradation and are appropriately scalable (vertical or horizontal) for the expected growth pattern.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
• Leads high-level planning sessions with the project team
• Coordinates projects, consisting of multiple EPICs and Features, of varying sizes
• Consistently mitigates program risks and optimizes resources and program effectiveness
• Demonstrates and trains others on Agile best practices
• Deliver commitments consistently and aligned with targeted program outcomes
• Establish relationships within project teams and with cross-functional teams
• Report blockers and impediments to project forward progress to Leadership
• Facilitates communication and collaboration within the team and with external stakeholders
• Identifies improvements to the team’s workflow and identifies best practices
WHAT WE REQUIRE:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Clearance Level: Prefer active Secret or higher
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, or IT-related field, or related discipline and at least 4 years of relevant work experience
• 4+ years of experience as an Agile practitioner, working on an Agile team
• 2+ years of experience utilizing Agile tools to lead technical projects
• SAFe Agilest (SA 6.0)
• SAFe ScrumMaster (SSM 6.0)
• Agile Certification (Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
• Professional Scrum Master (PSM)
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a very dynamic work environment
• Ability to understand technical issues at a high level
• Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
• Strong goal setting and task prioritization and execution abilities
• Strong leadership and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with supporting DevSecOps environments
• SAFe Scrum Master (SM) or SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (SASM)
• 4+ years supporting technical programs in the Department of Defense or Federal Agency
• 4+ years utilizing Atlassian JIRA, Atlassian CONFLUENCE, and similar AGILE Tools
