VP, Business Development - Wholesale

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a VP, Business Development – Wholesale in the United States.

This senior commercial leadership role focuses on driving wholesale growth within the private lending and real estate finance ecosystem, building high-value broker and third-party originator relationships across key markets. You will be responsible for expanding a strong referral network, developing strategic partnerships, and consistently generating new loan production through a wholesale channel. The role requires deep expertise in real estate investment lending products, combined with a strong ability to influence, educate, and close complex financing opportunities. You will represent a full suite of lending solutions including fix-and-flip, construction, rental, and bridge loans, acting as a trusted advisor to brokers and business partners. This is a highly entrepreneurial, performance-driven environment where relationship-building directly translates into revenue impact. You will also serve as a key brand ambassador in the field, actively engaging at industry events and shaping market presence.

Accountabilities
  • Drive wholesale loan production by sourcing and funding significant monthly loan volume through broker and third-party originator relationships.
  • Build, manage, and expand a high-performing book of business focused on real estate investment lending channels.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with business purpose lenders, brokers, and referral networks across assigned markets.
  • Educate and advise partners on the full lending product suite, including fix-and-flip, new construction, rental, and bridge financing solutions.
  • Act as a trusted market expert, providing strategic guidance and delivering tailored financing solutions to partners and clients.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, seminars, and networking functions to generate leads and strengthen brand presence.
  • Negotiate and close loan transactions while ensuring high-quality customer experience and efficient execution.
  • Consistently identify new business opportunities and creatively expand distribution channels.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in private lending, mortgage, or real estate finance (including bridge, construction, DSCR, or similar products).
  • Active NMLS license or ability to obtain it within 30 days of hire.
  • Proven track record in loan origination and wholesale or third-party origination environments.
  • Established book of business within broker or wholesale lending channels is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of real estate investment property markets and lending structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to source, develop, and close new business opportunities independently.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with a consultative sales approach.
  • Highly motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with a strong focus on performance and results.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field preferred.
