Job Description

Under general direction, provides high-level coordination, research, and analytical support for initiatives led by the Chancellor’s Office; coordinates strategic projects, facilitates cross-departmental collaboration, and supports the development and maintenance of key external relationships with community partners, government agencies, foundations, and other stakeholders.

This is a classified, non-management position that performs work of a highly responsible nature in support of the Chancellor.
Examples of duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Coordinates, plans, and implements strategic initiatives, special projects and Chancellor’s office priorities;
  • Coordinates and supports working groups, task forces, and cross-functional teams;
  • Monitor progress of initiatives by tracking milestones, deliverables, and actions items and prepares status reports;
  • Conducts research and analysis to support planning and decision-making;
  • Facilitates communication and collaboration among departments and colleges, to support timely implementation of initiatives;
  • Supports the Chancellor’s engagement with community leaders, partner organizations, foundations, government agencies, and regional collaborations;
  • Coordinates meetings and engagements with external stakeholders, including preparation of briefing materials and follow-up;
  • Tracks and maintains systems for monitoring external partnerships, collaborative initiatives, and community engagements involving the Chancellor’s Office;
  • Prepares executive briefings, background materials, talking points, and reports for meetings and public engagements;
  • Monitors emerging issues, trends, and opportunities relevant to the district and higher education and provides summaries to leadership;
  • Drafts correspondence, reports, presentations, and other written materials for the Chancellor’s Office; and
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, education, communications, political science, business administration, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience supporting executive leadership, coordinating projects or initiatives, governmental relations, or higher education administration.

Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience preparing executive briefings, reports, or policy analyses.
  • Experience coordinating partnerships, collaborative initiatives, or community engagement activities.
  • Experience working in a public sector organization.

  • Project coordination and organizational planning.

  • Work independently while exercising sound judgment and discretion.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
