Job Description
Are you a skilled CNC Machinist who takes pride in producing high-quality precision components? We are seeking an experienced professional to join our manufacturing team and play a critical role in the fabrication, repair, and continuous improvement of machine parts that support our operations.
In this position, you will work with advanced machining equipment, contribute to process improvements, and collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions.
What You'll Do- Set up, operate, and optimize CNC and conventional machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, EDM equipment, drill presses, and polishing machines
- Fabricate, modify, and repair precision machine components and spare parts
- Monitor part quality and ensure compliance with engineering specifications and tolerances
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering documentation to determine machining methods and production sequences
- Design and develop tooling, fixtures, jigs, templates, and work aids to improve efficiency and quality
- Verify finished part dimensions using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and gauge blocks
- Support preventive maintenance activities for machine shop equipment
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance machining performance and productivity
- Document fabrication activities using machine shop software and databases
- Collaborate closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to provide technical expertise and support
- Assist with training and mentoring apprenticeship candidates when needed
- Contribute to the launch and support of new spare-part initiatives
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 4 years of CNC machining experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Strong experience with CNC setup, operation, troubleshooting, and quality control
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machining specifications
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools and inspection techniques
- Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field
- Completion of a Department of Labor approved apprenticeship program focused on metalworking or machining
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered
- CNC machining, milling, turning, grinding, EDM, and related metalworking processes
- Tooling fixtures, work holding devices, and machining best practices
- Precision fabrication methods, including heat treating, coating, polishing, and finishing
- Blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning principles
- Mathematics relevant to machining, including geometry and trigonometry
- Manufacturing software, databases, and digital documentation systems
- Welding and metal fabrication fundamentals
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative mindset with a focus on teamwork and continuous improvement
- Commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence
- Rotating shift schedule with flexibility to support operational needs
- Participation in planned shutdown coverage as required
