Position Overview
Procurement Specialist I ensures daily operational excellence across the procurement lifecycle, executes sourcing activities, generates RFQs, requisitions, orders and optimizes supplier performance. This role serves as a key partner to internal stakeholders, drives departmental value, mitigates risks, contributes to continuous process improvement, maintains data integrity while strengthening procurement capabilities.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Draft and process purchase orders in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Work to resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or price.
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and reliability. (Establish multiple sources of supply for high-risk items)
- Collaborate interdepartmentally to identify/execute procurement requirements while providing a high-level of service to internal customers.
- Prioritize and follow-up effectively both internally and externally.
- Execute strategic sourcing initiatives while identifying opportunities to streamline.
- Launch/proactively manage internal / external inquiries or investigations.
- Data Management Excellence – Utilize D365 to robustly manage & maintain procurement data while phasing out reliance on offline reference tools, trackers, or logs.
- Leverage technologies including Microsoft Dynamics 365 & PBI to evolve, streamline and continuously improve processes while providing data driven solutions.
- Support initiatives/activities as directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment, manage time & prioritize tasks to meet production timelines & key metrics.
- Ability to be collaborative as well as work independently & purposefully with a positive attitude.
- Exceptional verbal & written communications.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, data analysis & visualization tools (Microsoft D365 & PBI)
- Accurate, responsive, proactive, ability to multi-task, and close attention to detail are essential.
- Drive & evolve processes; recognizing opportunities to streamline and support scale.
- Interdepartmental collaborator. Works purposefully with a positive attitude.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or related field.
- Minimum of 1-3+ years of progressive procurement or Supply Chain experience ideally in a complex or regulated industry.
