Kitchen Staff in Saint Peter, Minnesota at River's Edge Hospital & Clinic

Essential Functions

• Deliver meals to rooms at designated times in a polite and friendly manner.
• Clean and set up dining tables and food trays.
• Uphold our high standards for food safety and sanitation.
• Listen and make note of residents' food and drink requests and needs.
• Assist in the kitchen as needed, including cooking, stocking ingredients, dishwashing and maintaining equipment.
• Work in the cafe, serving customers and preparing food items and required.
• Stock inventory at nurses' stations as needed to ensure supplies are available.
• Handle cash transactions accurately and securely when working in the cafe.
• Inspect food, food preparation and storage areas.
• Communicate with medical staff to ensure nutritional goals are being met for each patient.
• Remove and dispose of food items that are past their expiration dates
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all hygiene protocols
• Other duties as prescribed by Manager/Lead

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to empathize with patient needs
• Must be able to walk/stand 80% of the shift
• At least a high school diploma or equivalent
• Certification in food services preferred (or a food handler's certification)
• Must be able to push, pull, and/or carry up to 90 pounds
• Team-oriented with a willingness to learn new skills
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Skilled in operating cooking appliances and preparing meals according to instruc

This is a part-time, .8 FTE position (64 hours per two weeks).

Hours are 10:00am to 6:30pm and include every-other weekend and every-other holiday.

Will need flexibility to fill in where needed.
