Chief Financial Officer in Waggaman, Louisiana at Cornerstone Chemical Company

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Chief Financial Officer will report to the CEO and assume a strategic role in the overall financial management of the company. The CFO will ultimately be responsible for reporting the profitability and overall financial health of the organization.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage budgets, forecasts, actuals and monitor performance to ensure the financial health and integrity of the business segment.
• Experience managing complex projects such as mergers, acquisitions, or facility expansions.
• Assist in the development of the annual business plan and perform forward looking financial analysis and accounting for potential partnerships, expansions, acquisitions, and divestments.
• Depth in traditional finance responsibility including, but not limited to: AP/AR, FP&A, reporting, tax, treasury, cash management, external reporting, hedging.
• Oversee the preparation and development of financial information to be presented to the Board of Directors, Private Equity ownership group, and other financial investors.
• Provide guidance and support to the executive staff on financial implications of business strategies and decisions.
• Lead the staff development of the Company’s finance team.
• Develop, interpret, and lead the administration and promulgation of policies and procedures for finance, accounting and the internal control functions in the segment.
• Monthly financial performance reports with detailed analyses of performance against established goals with recommendations of strategies to seize on opportunities or close gaps.
• Set regional and department objectives, monitoring and directing department workflow.
• Establish and maintain business performance reporting to drive accountability throughout the organization including, but not limited to profitability, cash flow, spending, etc.
• Responsible for organizing & reporting the monthly closing process within the segment.

KEY SKILLS

• Demonstrated experience leading/championing process improvement projects to drive productivity.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Expertise in financial planning and analysis.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, including strategic thinking capability, organization development, coaching and mentoring skills, influencing others and negotiating skills.
• Executive level project management experience.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working as a CFO within a manufacturing or related company with annual revenues of over $350 million.
• A minimum15 or more years of experience in private equity with full grasp of generally accepted accounting principles and auditing standards.
• Must have at least 5 years’ experience with international businesses, including cultural sensitivity (this role is global and will interface frequently with the US & Europe).
• Minimum 10 years management experience.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business, or equivalent relevant experience.
• An MBA, CFA, CPA plus experience in the Chemical Manufacturing industry preferred.
