This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.

At Blue Origin, we are building a modern, AI-enabled HR organization where data and intelligence are embedded into every product and decision. The Director of People Analytics & Workforce Intelligence will revolutionize how Blue Origin approaches talent decisions by creating an ecosystem that powers all aspects of our people strategy. In partnership with a broader HR Technology organization, this role will lead a team of analysts, data engineers and data scientists to deliver and maintain existing analytics products and services while also leading a transformation from traditional HR reporting to a sophisticated, product-driven approach that delivers actionable intelligence across the organization. This visionary leader will redefine how Blue Origin leverages people data to drive mission-critical decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Transformation

  • Define and implement a comprehensive people analytics strategy that aligns with Blue Origin's business objectives and talent priorities
  • Establish a clear vision for how data, AI, and intelligence are embedded across HR products and decision points
  • Create a multi-year roadmap for analytics capabilities development, data infrastructure, and AI integration
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, transforming complex workforce data into strategic insights that drive organizational performance

Product Development & Innovation

  • Lead the development of intelligence-driven HR products that solve critical business problems
  • Transform analytics into scalable product features such as attrition risk signals, hiring funnel optimization tools, and manager decision support systems
  • Identify and prioritize high-impact AI use cases across HR functions (Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Employee Experience, etc.)
  • Ensure insights are delivered in workflow (embedded in products) or via AI interactions
  • Partner with HR Tech and Engineering teams to deploy models and intelligent systems that enhance decision-making

Operational Excellence & Delivery

  • Develop and maintain self-service reporting solutions using BI tools like Tableau for dashboards and self-service reporting solutions, ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and compliance
  • Define and lead the tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) that provide actionable insight into workforce trends, operational effectiveness, and progress against Blue Origin's strategic people goals
  • Establish clear productivity and performance standards for the analytics function, ensuring consistent delivery
  • Partner with HR Tech and Product Management teams to establish optimal cross-functional ways of working to ensure successful release management and service delivery

Advanced Analytics & Data Science

  • Build predictive models to forecast talent needs, identify retention risks, and optimize workforce planning
  • Develop analytical frameworks to evaluate program effectiveness and ROI on talent investments
  • Create custom analytical solutions for complex organizational challenges
  • Accelerate the transition from transactional reporting to predictive and prescriptive analytics

Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Build and lead a high-performing analytics and product team that combines technical expertise with business acumen
  • Develop team capabilities across data engineering, data science, visualization, and product management
  • Establish standards and best practices for metrics, KPIs, experimentation, and analytical rigor
  • Mentor team members and create growth opportunities that attract and retain top analytics talent
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and cross-functional collaboration

Data Governance & Infrastructure

  • Establish robust data governance practices ensuring integrity, privacy, and lawful use of people data
  • Partner with HR Tech and ET to design and implement data infrastructure that enables seamless integration across systems
  • Ensure AI is used responsibly, with explainability, and compliance

Cross Functional Partnership & Influence

  • Drive complex, cross-domain initiatives that span multiple teams and functions
  • Partner closely with HR Centers of Excellence, HRBPs, and the HR Service Center to ensure analytics solutions deliver actionable insights
  • Collaborate with business leaders to apply analytical insights to organizational design decisions
  • Develop and deliver training for stakeholders on effectively using analytical tools and insights
  • Build a data-driven culture across the organization through education, engagement, and demonstrating value

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years experience in People Analytics or related fields
  • 3+ years managing People Analytics teams and/or software engineering teams
  • Expertise in Tableau and SQL, and/or other BI tools
  • Strong knowledge of Data science language skills such as Python, or VBA
  • Strong data storytelling skills, experience presenting to the C-suite
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $187,923.00 - $263,092.20

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) background check if at any time the role requires one to be on a military installation

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical

  • Paid Time Off: Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.
