CaroMont Medical Group, an affiliate of CaroMont Health, is offering a Full-Time opportunity for an experienced Advanced Practice Provider. This is an employed position with our Cardiovascular Service Line in Gaston County, North Carolina.
Job description for the Electrophysiology Lead APP role is as follows:
- The Arrhythmia Services Program Coordinator / Lead EP APP will be a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant with proven leadership skills and excellent clinical acumen who will work closely with the Cardiovascular leadership team to further the goals of the organization.
- Will report directly to the Medical Director.

The Arrhythmia Services Program Coordinator will serve as a resource and expert in the clinical field of cardiac rhythm management.
The Program Coordinator will work collaboratively with providers, administrators, and other personnel throughout the CaroMont healthcare system to streamline clinical and non-clinical operations of the Electrophysiology program; working across the spectrum of care with the goal of improving quality and efficiency of patient care and contributing to the evolution of program growth. Certification with the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) is preferred for this position.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Integration of evidence-based guidelines in accordance with the Heart Rhythm Society Guidelines in the development of protocols that are patient-centric, promoting quality and efficiency in the delivery of care.
- Coordinate educational sessions regarding arrhythmias and management strategies, including invasive and non-invasive treatment options, for nursing staff, providers, pharmacy, administrators, and others as needed in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Coordinate with IT and informatics team to create and update EMR order set/protocols for EP related medications, procedures, and admission/discharge.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as pharmacy, radiology, PACU, ED and nursing on Electrophysiology related projects.
- Collaborate on procedural scheduling workflow and block time for maximal efficiency in the Electrophysiology Lab.
- Participate in community outreach and development of referral pathways to promote arrhythmia disease awareness and the offerings of the Electrophysiology program to promote program growth.
- Provide clinical expertise and serve as liaison for Electrophysiology related matters for administration, providers, and clinic staff.
The Arrhythmia Services Program Coordinator will serve as the Device Clinic Coordinator, providing Cardiac Implanted Electronic Device clinical expertise and administrative oversight for staff. The Device Clinic Coordinator will also serve as a liaison between staff, providers, and administration for CIED related concerns.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- CIED programming and management.
- Develop policy & procedures and collaborate with administration on staff job description.
- Lead Device Clinic staff meetings.
- Collaborate with staff and administration regarding equipment needs, IT issues, EMR integration, quality control, and billing issues.
- Collaborate with Electrophysiologists regarding standardization of device care, management of acute and chronic CIED programming, and documentation.
- Coordinate education for providers regarding new technology and device related issues impacting general cardiology care.
- Utilize quality and performance measures to maximize clinical, quality and fiscal outcomes.
- Oversee response to CIED recall/advisory.
