HTI is hiring a Plant Laboratory Supervisor for a leading automotive manufacturing facility in Anderson, SC. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional with laboratory, paint, plastics, or manufacturing experience who is ready to lead laboratory operations, support customer quality requirements, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced production environment. This role combines technical expertise, leadership responsibility, and direct interaction with customers, suppliers, and production teams.
Plant Laboratory Supervisor
Salary: $70,000 - $85,000 annually (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Occasional Weekends)
Location: Anderson, SC
- Lead daily laboratory operations and supervise laboratory technicians
- Oversee product and process testing to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards
- Support PPAP qualifications for new products, materials, and paint processes
- Perform and review laboratory testing, measurements, and reporting activities
- Analyze test results and provide recommendations to support production and quality objectives
- Maintain laboratory testing methods, documentation, and OEM-specific standards
- Ensure all laboratory equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and compliant with customer requirements
- Manage product requalification testing and customer master sample preservation
- Support supplier quality activities, incoming inspections, and customer quality requirements
- Lead and support Paint-In processes, color matching, and new color approvals
- Train production personnel and laboratory staff on testing methods and quality controls
- Participate in audits, continuous improvement initiatives, and quality roadmap activities
- Serve as a key liaison between customers, suppliers, production, and quality teams
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Quality, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of laboratory, quality, or manufacturing experience in an industrial environment
- Experience working with paint systems, coatings, plastics, or automotive manufacturing preferred
- Strong understanding of laboratory testing methods, quality systems, and technical reporting
- Experience supporting customer and supplier quality initiatives
- Knowledge of PPAP, quality documentation, and manufacturing quality standards
- Experience with equipment calibration, measurement systems, and testing equipment maintenance
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to analyze technical issues and drive effective corrective actions
- Competitive salary ranging from $70,000-$85,000 based on experience
