Job Description
Reports to: Westfield Innovations Supervisor
Supervises: None
Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly
Work Schedule: 8 am – 5 pm, Monday - Friday
Purpose of Position
The primary responsibility of the Builder Associate is to support daily shop production by building, assembling, and maintaining equipment while ensuring quality, accuracy, and efficiency in all work performed.

Essential Duties:
- Perform hands-on machine builds, assembly, and production tasks.
- Follow production schedules and priorities set by leadership.
- Maintain a steady and efficient work pace to support production goals.
- Ensure all work meets Westfield quality and workmanship standards.
- Identify and communicate any issues with materials, tools, or build processes.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Support team members as needed to maintain workflow and productivity.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- 1–3 years of manufacturing, fabrication, or equipment assembly experience preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to develop hands-on skills.
- Ability to read and follow build drawings, schematics, and instructions.
- Familiarity with shop tools and equipment (or willingness to learn).
- Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team.

Physical Requirements / Environmental Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee is regularly required to move about the facility. The employee must frequently lift and/or move parts and inventory. Employee is required to seek assistance in the lifting of more than 50 pounds or use a forklift to lift. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, soaps and/or chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee is exposed to cold and heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
