Job Description

Principal Architect: GCP Cloud

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Architect: GCP Cloud based in United States.

This is a high-impact, client-facing architecture role focused on designing and governing enterprise-grade Google Cloud foundations for large-scale organizations. You will act as a trusted technical advisor across sales, delivery, and strategy, shaping how complex cloud environments are built and operationalized. The role combines deep hands-on cloud architecture expertise with consultative leadership across business and technical stakeholders. You will define landing zones, networking, and security standards that enable scalable and compliant cloud adoption. You will also guide cross-functional teams working on AI, customer experience, and integration workloads. Operating in a fast-paced consulting and transformation environment, you will influence both pre-sales outcomes and long-term platform success. This position is ideal for a cloud architect who thrives at the intersection of strategy, engineering, and customer impact.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the design of enterprise GCP foundations including landing zones, VPC architecture, IAM frameworks, and security perimeters, ensuring scalability, compliance, and long-term maintainability.
  • Partner with sales and client teams during discovery and solutioning phases, translating business needs into high-level cloud architectures and providing effort estimates for complex engagements.
  • Provide architectural governance and oversight throughout delivery to ensure alignment with best practices and design integrity across cloud implementations.
  • Drive innovation through internal GCP sandbox environments, supporting proof of concepts, reusable assets, accelerators, and experimentation frameworks.
  • Act as a technical liaison between clients, partners, and internal teams, aligning solutions with evolving Google Cloud capabilities and enterprise requirements.
  • Collaborate with AI, integration, and CX architects to ensure infrastructure is optimized for performance, security, and workload-specific needs across the platform.

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure engineering, or consultative technical leadership roles within enterprise environments.
  • Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform services including compute, container orchestration, serverless technologies, networking, security, and identity and access management.
  • Strong experience designing multi-region, highly available, and compliant cloud architectures for global organizations.
  • Proven ability to operate in customer-facing roles, influencing senior stakeholders and contributing to complex pre-sales and delivery engagements.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and automated cloud foundation or landing zone frameworks.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Google Cloud Professional certifications (Architect and/or Security Engineer) strongly preferred.

Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary with performance-based incentives.
  • Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer contributions.
  • Paid time off, holidays, and flexible vacation policies.
  • Employee assistance programs supporting mental health and wellbeing.
  • Opportunities for continuous learning, certification support, and professional development.
  • Remote work flexibility within the United States.
