At Ironwood, care is personal—and so is our team culture. Our Central Business Office is looking for a detail-oriented and patient focused New Patient Scheduler/Operator to serve as a vital first point of contact for our patients.

Position Summary:

Assists in monitoring the efficiency of the office support team. Coordinates the activities of the office team and provides coverage as needed.

What You’ll Do:

Serve as a primary contact for incoming patient and referral callsSchedule new patient appointments accurately and efficientlyCollect and verify demographic and insurance informationRequest, track, and follow up on medical records prior to appointmentsMonitor fax servers, voicemails, and patient call-back queuesSend new patient paperwork promptly (mail/email)Maintain and update patient data using Excel logs and internal systemsCoordinate pre-appointment preparation with clinical teamsCommunicate daily with physicians regarding scheduling needsSupport overall office operations with additional administrative duties

What We’re Looking For:

1–2 years of medical office experience requiredStrong customer service and communication skillsExcellent attention to detail and organizational abilitiesAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environmentComfortable working with computers, EMRs, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelinesPositive, team-oriented attitude and professional demeanor

Preferred Qualifications:

Medical oncology experienceKnowledge of insurance processes and coverage verificationFamiliarity with healthcare regulations and compliance standardsUnderstanding of chemotherapy drugs and related suppliesBilingual communication skills
