Strategic Project Lead - Healthcare

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Strategic Project Lead - Healthcare based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to lead complex healthcare and medical AI data programs from initial solution design through successful delivery.
You’ll bridge customer objectives, clinical expertise, and global delivery capabilities to turn emerging AI use cases into scalable programs.
The position combines strategic project leadership with hands-on execution and meaningful exposure to customers and delivery teams.
You’ll translate ambiguous requirements into clear specifications, workflows, expert needs, and measurable quality standards.
Working alongside AI researchers and multidisciplinary teams, you’ll help shape how healthcare data supports the development and evaluation of advanced AI systems.
The environment is fast-moving and international, with evolving AI capabilities and priorities requiring adaptability and strong judgment.

Accountabilities
  • Strategic Project Leadership: Own complex healthcare and medical AI data programs from solution design through delivery, ensuring projects meet customer objectives, quality expectations, feasibility requirements, and cost considerations.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders, translating ambiguous business and clinical requirements into clear project specifications and actionable plans.
  • Solution Design: Help shape data programs and workflows that support AI model training, evaluation, and other emerging healthcare use cases.
  • Program Scaling: Turn successful pilots and emerging use cases into scalable projects by defining workflows, expert requirements, operating models, and quality standards.
  • Clinical & AI Collaboration: Partner with researchers, clinical experts, and global delivery teams to ensure programs are grounded in healthcare expertise while meeting the technical and operational needs of AI development.
  • Delivery Excellence: Coordinate multidisciplinary and geographically distributed teams, proactively identifying risks, resolving challenges, and maintaining delivery momentum in a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Quality & Feasibility: Establish and monitor appropriate quality standards while balancing clinical requirements, project feasibility, scalability, and cost.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes, delivery models, and data workflows as AI technologies and customer needs evolve.
Requirements
  • Healthcare Experience: 2+ years of experience in clinical practice, healthcare, medical research, life sciences, or a closely related field.
  • Project Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading complex projects, programs, or multidisciplinary teams, ideally in environments involving multiple stakeholders and evolving requirements.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong ability to work with diverse stakeholders and translate unclear or complex requirements into structured specifications, priorities, and execution plans.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to assess complex problems, balance quality, feasibility, and cost considerations, and make sound decisions in ambiguous situations.
  • AI & Data Exposure: Familiarity with AI/ML companies, AI research environments, data annotation or evaluation programs, data pipelines, AI training workflows, model evaluation, or human-in-the-loop operations is a strong advantage.
  • Technical & Data-Intensive Projects: Experience managing technical, data-intensive, or other complex operational programs is preferred.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across clinical, technical, commercial, and operational teams.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced global environment where priorities, technologies, and AI capabilities evolve quickly.
  • Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills, curiosity, accountability, and a practical approach to solving problems across multidisciplinary and geographically distributed teams.
