Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift in Ixonia, Wisconsin at K&S Manufacturing

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production activities within an assigned manufacturing department to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations. This position provides direct leadership to production employees, coordinates staffing and workflow, monitors production performance, and works closely with other departments to meet production schedules and customer requirements. The Production Supervisor is responsible for developing employees, maintaining accountability, and promoting a culture of safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily production activities for employees within an assigned manufacturing department.
• Provide direction, coaching, and support to production employees to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to established standards.
• Plan and coordinate staffing, assignments, and workflow to meet daily production schedules and customer requirements.
• Monitor production performance, including productivity, quality, scrap, downtime, efficiency, and on-time completion.
• Conduct regular floor inspections to identify safety, quality, housekeeping, equipment, and workflow concerns.
• Address production issues promptly and escalate significant concerns to the Production Superintendent or appropriate department.
• Work closely with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Planning, Shipping, and other departments to resolve production issues and maintain efficient operations.
• Monitor employee attendance, performance, productivity, and adherence to company policies.
• Assist with hiring, interviewing, training, and development of production employees.
• Develop and maintain a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment.
• Communicate production expectations, department priorities, and company information effectively to employees.
• Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement, and other operational improvement initiatives.
• Work with Maintenance to address equipment breakdowns and recurring maintenance concerns.
• Assist with investigating quality issues and implementing corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, company safety policies, PPE requirements, and other applicable regulations.
• Conduct or participate in shift meetings, production meetings, safety meetings, and other department communications.
• Provide appropriate shift handoff information to ensure continuity between shifts.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Previous supervisory, lead, or team leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production workflow, and scheduling.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach, and hold employees accountable.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and changing demands in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with employees, management, and other departments.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and manufacturing safety practices.
• Ability to enforce company policies and procedures consistently and fairly.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar computer applications.
• Ability to work flexible hours or varying schedules based on production needs.
