Job Title : Microbiologist II(Onsite)

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Microbiologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform clinical microbiology and molecular testing in a public health laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform microbiological testing, culture isolation, and organism identification of bacterial and fungal pathogens.
- Conduct molecular testing including PCR, nucleic acid extraction, sequencing, and Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS).
- Utilize laboratory instruments and technologies such as MALDI-TOF and other automated identification systems.
- Interpret, validate, and report laboratory results.
- Maintain compliance with CLIA regulations, quality assurance (QA), quality control (QC), and proficiency testing requirements.
- Document testing activities and maintain laboratory records.
- Assist with inventory management and laboratory operations.
- Support additional testing areas as needed, including molecular, virology, serology, and microbiology.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Medical Laboratory Science, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
- Experience in clinical microbiology and/or molecular diagnostics.
- Hands-on experience with PCR, nucleic acid extraction, sequencing, or WGS.
- Knowledge of CLIA regulations, QA/QC procedures, and high-complexity laboratory testing.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred:
- ASCP, MLS, MT, CLS, or equivalent certification.
- Experience with MALDI-TOF, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, and public health or hospital laboratory environments.
- Experience working with bacterial and fungal pathogens, including multidrug-resistant organisms.
