Job Description
Summary: Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities: All duties are subject to accommodation in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- Prepares and records assets, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, resolving discrepancies.
- Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, reconciling entries.
- Summarizes financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
- Completes external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts, providing information for auditors.
- Assist with analyzing financial statements monthly and report on variances.
- Maintains and submits Monthly and Quarterly Financial Expenditure Reports to Contracted Agencies.
- Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of accounting theory
- Ability to meet assigned deadlines
- Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
- Proficiency with email and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting or Finance.
- At least two years of non-profit health care organization experience.
- At least two years of experience working with healthcare grants.
- Experience utilizing accounting software. Acumatica strongly preferred.
