This senior leadership role sits at the center of a high-volume, complex financial operations environment, overseeing end-to-end payment execution across critical transaction workflows. The position is responsible for ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all payment activities, including shareholder disbursements and closing-day transactions. You will lead and develop multi-layered operations teams while driving operational excellence, scalability, and continuous improvement. Acting as a key cross-functional partner, you will collaborate closely with client service, reconciliation, product, and banking stakeholders to reduce exceptions and strengthen process integrity. The role requires strong leadership in fast-paced, regulated financial environments where precision and accountability are essential. It also offers the opportunity to shape controls, systems, and team capabilities that directly impact transaction success at scale.

Accountabilities:
  • Own and lead the end-to-end payments operations function, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant execution of shareholder and closing-day payments, including governance of payment files, bank cutoffs, and SLA adherence.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Payments leadership team, including Payments Managers and the Manager of Payments Compliance, ensuring strong performance, staffing, and capability building.
  • Establish and maintain robust operational controls covering payment validation, fraud prevention, documentation retention, and exception management for failed or delayed payments.
  • Oversee reconciliation governance, ensuring breaks are analyzed, resolved promptly, and supported by complete audit documentation.
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders (Reconciliation, Client Services, Relationship Management, Product, and Banking partners) to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide oversight of FX-related operations, ensuring accurate instruction, execution readiness, and system configuration for multi-currency transactions.
  • Deliver regular reporting and insights to senior leadership on operational performance, trends, and root-cause analysis, recommending improvements to enhance outcomes.
  • Maintain and continuously improve SOPs, training materials, and operational documentation standards across the function.
  • Ensure strong performance management practices across the team, including hiring, coaching, evaluations, and corrective actions when necessary.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, operations, or equivalent professional experience.
  • FINRA Series 99 Operations Professional license required.
  • 5+ years of experience in banking, payments, financial services, escrow, or transaction operations.
  • 3+ years of people management experience, ideally including leadership of managers and multi-team structures.
  • Strong expertise in payment processing, reconciliations, exception management, and operational risk controls.
  • Proven ability to manage complex payment workflows, resolve issues under tight deadlines, and ensure compliance with regulatory and banking requirements.
  • Experience working with banking partners and managing escalations tied to payment cutoffs and operational constraints.
  • Working knowledge of foreign exchange (FX) processes and multi-currency payment operations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with enterprise systems (e.g., ERP/CRM platforms such as NetSuite).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to thrive in high-pressure environments.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and driven by continuous improvement and operational scalability.
Benefits:
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage starting on day one
  • 401(k) retirement plan with 4% company match
  • Discretionary time off for flexibility and work-life balance
  • Employer-paid life insurance with optional additional coverage
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for confidential support services
  • Discounted pet insurance
  • Fitness and wellness credit
  • Pre-tax savings programs (dependent care, transportation, and flexible spending accounts)
  • Salary range: $125,000 – $135,000 depending on experience
  • Fully remote within the Continental United States (with occasional in-office presence if based near Denver)
