This role focuses on the design, development, and optimization of embedded firmware for high-performance optical transceivers that enable advanced connectivity in modern communication systems. You will work at the intersection of hardware and software, ensuring reliable, efficient, and scalable firmware solutions that meet stringent performance requirements. The position involves close collaboration with hardware engineering teams to integrate firmware seamlessly into complex optical systems. You will contribute to product quality through rigorous testing, validation, and debugging of embedded code in production-grade environments. The role also emphasizes performance optimization, particularly around speed, power efficiency, and system stability. In addition to technical execution, you will help shape documentation standards and support continuous improvement in firmware development practices. This is a highly technical, hands-on engineering role in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining embedded firmware for optical transceivers while ensuring robust integration with underlying hardware systems. You will contribute to product reliability and performance through hands-on engineering, debugging, and optimization work.
- Design, develop, debug, and test embedded firmware for optical transceiver products using C/C++ and related tools
- Collaborate closely with hardware engineering teams to ensure seamless firmware-hardware integration
- Conduct thorough validation and testing to ensure firmware meets performance, reliability, and quality standards
- Diagnose and resolve complex firmware and hardware integration issues in development and production environments
- Optimize firmware performance with respect to speed, memory usage, power consumption, and system efficiency
- Maintain clear and detailed technical documentation of firmware architecture, design, and functionality
- Support continuous improvement of firmware development processes and engineering best practices
This role requires strong embedded systems expertise with deep experience in firmware development, ideally within optical communications or related high-performance hardware environments. A solid foundation in engineering principles and hands-on coding ability is essential.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (Master’s or PhD preferred for senior-level expertise)
- Strong experience in embedded firmware development, ideally within optical transceivers or similar hardware systems
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded systems
- Solid understanding of hardware-software integration and debugging at system level
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, design practices, and embedded system architectures
- Experience with firmware testing, validation, and performance optimization techniques
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and hardware development lifecycle concepts
- Proficiency with standard productivity tools such as Microsoft Office and technical documentation systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional engineering teams
