Echo TechnologistPosition Summary

MFM Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate full-time Echo Technologist to join our growing healthcare practice. The Echo Technologist performs high-quality diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations while providing exceptional patient care in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. This role works closely with physicians and advanced practice providers to support the diagnosis and management of cardiovascular conditions.

Essential ResponsibilitiesDiagnostic Imaging
  • Perform comprehensive transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) in accordance with established protocols.
  • Obtain accurate measurements and high-quality images to assist providers in diagnosing cardiovascular disease.
  • Recognize abnormal findings and communicate urgent or significant results to the appropriate provider.
  • Assist with stress echocardiography and other cardiac ultrasound procedures, as appropriate.
  • Ensure studies are complete, accurate, and properly documented.
Patient Care
  • Prepare patients for procedures and explain examinations in a clear and professional manner.
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
  • Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout procedures.
  • Maintain infection prevention and safety standards.
Documentation & Quality Assurance
  • Accurately document findings and complete reports within the electronic medical record system.
  • Maintain imaging equipment and promptly report any equipment issues or malfunctions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and practice standards.
Team Collaboration
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and support staff.
  • Support efficient patient flow and scheduling.
  • Assist with additional cardiovascular diagnostic services and clinical responsibilities as needed.
  • Contribute to a positive and professional work environment aligned with MFM Health's mission and values.
QualificationsRequired
  • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiac Ultrasound program.
  • Current certification through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) with Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) credential or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) with Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) credential.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Minimum of one year of echocardiography experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and echocardiographic techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while functioning effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred
  • Experience in an outpatient cardiology or physician practice setting.
  • Experience performing stress echocardiography.
  • Familiarity with Athenahealth or similar electronic medical record systems.
  • Knowledge of cardiovascular testing workflows and quality standards.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to maneuver ultrasound equipment and assist patients as needed.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity required to perform diagnostic imaging procedures.
Schedule
  • Full-time, Monday through Friday.
  • Day shift.
  • No evenings, weekends, or major holidays.

Pay $48 - $60 per hour commensurate with experience
