About The Role
The Maintenance Supervisor in the Engineering department is responsible for leading and coordinating daily maintenance operations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient facility and equipment performance. This hourly, full-time role oversees a team of maintenance technicians, prioritizes and assigns work, and ensures all tasks are completed to quality, safety, and regulatory standards. The Maintenance Supervisor serves as the key point of contact between operations and maintenance, helping to minimize downtime, support continuous improvement, and maintain a high standard of workmanship across all mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
What You'll Do
- Supervise, schedule, and coordinate daily activities of maintenance technicians to ensure timely completion of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks.
- Oversee the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of facility equipment, systems, and machinery in alignment with engineering and operational requirements.
- Prioritize work orders based on safety, production impact, and resource availability, and ensure accurate documentation in the maintenance management system.
- Monitor equipment performance and condition to identify recurring issues, root causes, and opportunities for improvement in reliability and uptime.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, and promote a strong safety culture within the maintenance team.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities, support projects, and minimize operational disruptions.
- Assist in developing and maintaining preventive and predictive maintenance programs, schedules, and standard work instructions.
- Verify quality and completeness of all maintenance work, including proper use of parts, tools, and procedures, and adherence to technical specifications.
- Support planning and execution of facility upgrades, equipment installations, and capital improvement projects within the 110 Engineering department.
- Manage maintenance inventory levels, initiate parts and materials requests, and work with purchasing to control costs and ensure availability.
- Train, mentor, and coach maintenance team members on technical skills, safety practices, and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in budget planning, cost tracking, and reporting related to maintenance activities, labor utilization, and materials usage.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with leadership and team members regarding maintenance status, priorities, and issues.
- Respond to urgent maintenance calls and support after-hours, weekend, or on-call coverage as needed.
- Identify and recommend process, equipment, and workflow improvements to increase reliability, efficiency, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Qualifications
- Previous experience in industrial, facilities, or manufacturing maintenance, including hands-on work with mechanical, electrical, or building systems.
- Proven experience in a lead, senior technician, or supervisory maintenance role, with responsibility for assigning and reviewing work.
- Working knowledge of maintenance practices, including preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with common tools, equipment, and methods used in mechanical, electrical, and facilities maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation such as equipment manuals, drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
- Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) or similar tool for work orders, scheduling, and recordkeeping.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety practices and regulations applicable to maintenance and engineering environments.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a diverse maintenance team.
- Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact across departments and levels.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic proficiency with computers and standard office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, and word processing).
- Ability to work an hourly, full-time schedule, including flexibility for overtime, weekends, or on-call duties as required.
- Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks, including standing, walking, climbing, lifting, and working in various environmental conditions, as applicable to the role.
The pay range for this role is:
20 - 25 USD per hour(Hilton Garden Inn Billings)
