Job Title: Therapist II
Department: Caritas Youth Therapeutic Treatment Center
Status: Full-Time, Exempt
Reports To: Assistant Director of Clinical Operations
Starting Pay: $61,647 annually
Position Summary:
The Residential Therapist II provides therapy services to assist youth in transitioning from a residential level of service back to a less restrictive environment. This is achieved through the provision of intensive individual, group, and/or family therapy. Residential Therapist’s provide behavioral assessments and clinical counseling services within a residential placement.
Key Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provides therapy to individuals, families and groups.
- Completes a mental health assessment and develops appropriate goals and treatment plans for each client as required.
- Completes documentation required by internal and external funding sources in accordance with agency and legal standards.
- Maintains records and monitor client payments/billings per agency policy. Works in conjunction with clerical staff to update and coordinate client scheduling and payments.
- Maintains a clinical schedule that provides the option for each client on caseload to receive a minimum of nine hours of individual/family therapy and one hour of group therapy every week. Therapists shall also provide additional openings in their clinical schedule to allow for clients to be rescheduled to another time during the week in the event of a crisis or scheduling conflicts.
- Is available to provide therapy services in accordance with the scheduling needs of their clients; to include evening appointments and/or weekend appointments. A minimum of one night per week is required.
- Participates in rotating on-call schedule to provide clinical oversight of residents within facility.
- Complete all paperwork required by insurance, State Transition Protocol Requirements, and the policies and procedures of the BHSP.

Requirements:QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Master's degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy (Related Fields will be considered.)
- Licensure Requirements: Medicaid/CFR Designation: QMHP/ Habilitation Professional; LPC/LSW, Pursuit of attaining independent Illinois licensure required. Must be able to qualify as a QMHP per Illinois Admin Code 132.25.
- Licenses/Certifications Preferred: N/A. Minimum experience commensurate with licensure requirements. Must have demonstrated experience and ability to work with children. Previous experience working within a residential treatment environment preferred. (For positions that manage staff, the years specified need to be progressive years of management experience. For all positions, the years required can be interchanged with equivalent experience from an advanced degree related to this job and/or with other relevant experience verified by
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write case notes that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
