Job Summary
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the community in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as community policies and procedures. This role works closely with the leadership team to ensure residents, families, visitors, and team members enjoy a clean and comfortable environment.
Essential Responsibilities
• Perform routine housekeeping duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, washing, and other cleaning tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness of common areas, resident spaces, offices, and public restrooms.
• Clean and sanitize public restrooms and high-touch surfaces.
• Empty trash receptacles, dispose of waste properly, and replace liners as needed.
• Stock housekeeping carts with appropriate supplies and equipment.
• Clean and maintain housekeeping equipment and carts.
• Polish metal fixtures and maintain the appearance of community furnishings and surfaces.
• Pick up litter and debris from community grounds, including parking areas.
• Recognize and respond promptly to resident housekeeping needs.
• Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and supply shortages to leadership.
• Follow infection control procedures and properly handle potentially infectious materials.
• Assist with moving or lifting equipment and supplies as needed.
• Ensure supplies, tools, and equipment are stored properly throughout the workday.
• Turn in all lost-and-found items according to community procedures.
• Follow all emergency preparedness, safety, and fire prevention procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous housekeeping experience in senior living, hospitality, healthcare, or a related setting preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull supplies and equipment as needed.
• Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude.
• Commitment to providing exceptional service to residents and families.
